Soccer Legend Franz Beckenbauer Passes
One of the most prolific professional futbol players of all time has died.
A legend around the world, Franz Beckenbauer died Sunday January 7th 2024 in Germany. He was only 78.
He won the World Cup twice…once as a player for West Germany in 1974, and then as West Germany’s manager in 1990.
Beckenbauer played in the United States in the mid to late 1970’s, when he teamed up with another soccer immortal Pele, as they led the New York Cosmos professional soccer team to 3 titles in the North American Soccer League. He also played in the U-S based MLS…Major League Soccer.
