Late Heroics Knot Series; Firebirds Head Home For Game 3 Wednesday May 8th
An overtime goal from Devin Shore gave the Coachella Valley Firebirds a 4 to 3 win Sunday in Calgary.
Their Best-of-5 AHL 2nd Round series is tied at 1 game each as the teams travel to the desert for Game 3 Wednesday night May 8th at 7 o’clock.
The Firebirds scored the first goal of the game in the 2nd period, but 3 Calgary goals left the Firebrids trailing 3 to 2 with about 6 minutes left in the game.
That’s when Connor Carrick’s goal tied the game for Coachella Valley, with about 6 minutes left, setting the stage for OT and Devin Shore’s game-winning goal.
In Game 1 last Friday night, the Firebirds scored just one goal, and were trailing 2 to 1 late in the game when they pulled the goalie and Calgary popped in 2 empty net goals, for a 4 to 1 victory.
Game three will be this Wednesday, May 8th at Acrisure Arena. Puck drop is set for 7pm PT.
