In 2024 Wine and Liquor Bottles Will Be Recycled In California

Starting on New Year’s Day 2024, the State of California will begin recycling booze bottles.  Glass bottles that wine and hard liquor come in, will finally be recycled. You’ll pay a nickel or dime deposit on the bottle when you buy your booze.

Glass beer bottles have been recycled for years, but large bottles used for wine and spirits, have not.

Wine and other alcoholic beverages sold in cans…those cans will also be recycled.

However glass and plastic bottles and jars used to package mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, olive oil,  and  milk, are not accepted for recycling.
