Elk’s Lodge Fire Investigation; Victims Identified

46 year old Philip Pape of Cathedral City is one of the people killed in last Saturday’s fire at the old Elk’s Lodge on East Palm Canyon Drive on the border of Palm Springs and Cathedral City.
A 37 year old woman, Josee Vanbuskirk of Wasilla Alaska and Cathedral City was also killed.
One other person was killed in the fire, and one person sustained critical injuries in that fire also that started just before 7:30 in the morning Saturday March 9th 2024.
A firefighter suffered moderate injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
