Workers Protest, Google Fires

Google has just fired 28 workers.

Why?

Those workers were unhappy that Google has a contract to provide the Israeli government and Israeli military with cloud computing and AI Services.

The workers were also unhappy with their work conditions.

Now they don’t have to worry about their work conditions because they don’t have jobs.

Recently, in April of 2024, nine Google employees were arrested for trespassing after staging a sit-in at the company offices in New York and California.

And because we live in a high-tech world, those protests and the sit-in,  and the arrests  were live -streamed on Twitch.

In a memo to staff announcing the firings, Google writes “Behavior like this has no place in our workplace and we will not tolerate it.”
