Two Las Vegas Men Charged In Desert Hot Springs Murder

Two young men came to the Coachella Valley looking for trouble in December 2023, and they found it.

Now police have found them.

On Sunday evening December 17th 2023, around 7 o’clock, Desert Hot Springs Police were called to Mission Springs Park on Park Lane to investigate a shooting.

It turned out to be worse than that.

A man had been shot and he died after being rushed to the hospital.

One month later, on Tuesday January 17th 2024, Desert Hot Springs Police Detectives with help from Las Vegas Metro Police, served arrest warrants at 2 locations in Las Vegas.

They arrested 18 year old Emanuel Castaneda Martinez for murder, robbery and use of a firearm.

They also arrested 18 year old Carlos Hernandez of Las Vegas for Murder and Robbery.

Both are jailed in Nevada without bail, but will be taken to California to stand trial.
