Thieves Arrested After Running Over An E-Bike Used By Indio Police; No Injuries Reported

An Indio Police Officer was not hurt when he tried to apprehend a thief in broad daylight Wednesday afternoon.
The criminal ran out of the Five Below store near Jackson Street and 42nd with some stolen merchandise, and jumped into a getaway car driven by another criminal.
The Police Officer was riding his police electric bike and tried to get the license plate number of the getaway car.
But the driver ran over the e-bike, as the officer jumped off the bike to avoid getting hit.
Both suspects were arrested.
