Stores Selling Tobacco To Minors

On Thursday March 7th 2024, deputies assigned to the Coachella Community Action Team carried out a Minor Decoy Operation as part of a tobacco sales compliance check. 

People between 18 and 20 years old, were used as decoys as they went into 29 retails stores in teh City of Coachella and tried to buy tobacco products.

And they were able to buy tobacco at 5 stores.

The clerks at those stores that sold tobacco to the underage decoys, were given citations.

Your tax dollars fund these decoy operations.
