Regular Season Ends With Weekend Split With The Gulls; Firebirds Rest Up For Round 2 Of The Playoffs

The Coachella Valley Firebirds ended their regular season with a 4 to 3 home loss to San Diego Sunday, in front of a sold out crowd.

The Gulls scored 3 goals in the first period.  The Firbirds scored 3 goals in the 3rd period to tie the game and force overtime.

The Gulls won it by getting a goal in the shootout.

Saturday night, the Gulls jumped out to a 3-nothing lead, and extended it to 4 to 1 entering the 3rd period.

The Firebirds scored 3 goals in the 3rd to tied it and won it in overtime on a goal from Marian Studenic. (STOO-din-EACH)

The Firebirds are off for a least a week, as they have a bye in the 1st Round of the AHL playoffs.
