Palm Springs Convention Center Earns Certified Autism Center Designation

The Palm Springs Convention Center is the first convention center in California designated as a Certified Autism Center™ by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). The staff underwent comprehensive autistic and sensory-sensitive training to enhance experiences for those across the spectrum.

The Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism is also included in the certification. This allows Guest Service Representatives at the two Palm Springs Visitor Centers and Convention Center to provide a hospitable space for individuals and families seeking tourist information.

In January 2024 the City of Palm Desert  became the first city in California to be awarded the Certified Autism Center™ designation by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). This notable achievement underscores Palm Desert’s commitment to autism and neurodiversity training, enhancing its capability to interact with and serve its community and employees more effectively.
