One DUI Arrest In An 8-Hour Sobriety Checkpoint In Rancho Mirage

On Friday January 12th, 2023, deputies set up a DUI checkpoint along Highway 111 near Library Way in Rancho Mirage.

They were there from 6 at night until 2 o’clock Saturday morning.

During that time, only one person was arrested for drunk driving. One person was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and 2 people were arrested for driving on a suspended license.

27 drivers were cited for driving without a license or with a suspended or revoked license. 13 additional citations were issued for drivers whose vehicles had safety violations.

1,318 vehicles drove through the checkpoint. That’s about 164 vehicles per hour.
