Oak View Group Will Manage & Operate Refurbished Plaza Theatre In Palm Springs

When the Historic Plaza Theatre in Downtown Palm Springs reopens in late 2025 with a new look and a museum on-site, Oak View Group , which runs Acrisure Arena, will be in charge of daily operations, management, and scheduling shows.

The agreement is between the City of Palm Springs, the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre Foundation, and  Oak View Group.  Oak View is waiving all management fees.

The agreement provides the City of Palm Springs with a total of 21 days each year to offer public programming at the discretion of the City Council. This programming would include the annual State of the City address, and cultural and civic programs.

In 2023, Oak View Group donated one million dollars to fundraising campaign to pay for the restoration of the Plaza Theatre.

That restoration gets started in March 2024, and should be done by the Fall of 2025.

Oak View Group will work with the Plaza Theatre Foundation on design of the theatre, food and  beverage services, and staff hiring and training.

Once the theatre opens, Oak View Group  will manage all aspects of the theatre, including getting corporate sponsors, booking and promoting events,  concerts, chamber orchestra performances, music and film festivals, community meetings, conventions, cabaret performances, lectures,  children’s programming, and charity and fundraising events.

And you can have the Theatre named after you, if you contribute 10 million dollars to the Plaza Theatre Foundation.
