Missing Hiker’s Remains Found In Joshua Tree National Park; Cause Of Death Still Unknown

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the human skeleton found in Joshua Tree National Park on January 25th 2024 is that of missing hiker, Trammell Evans of Florida.

The 26 year old Evans was dropped off in the Black Rock area of the park on April 30th 2023.

He was heading out on a hike alone.

When he never returned from the hike, family members called police.

An extensive search in May 2023 yielded nothing.

Then Park staff found the human remains on Thursday January 25th 2024, with Evans’ backpack nearby.

The investigation is ongoing as to what happened, as the Coroner has not confirmed a cause of death.
