Man Hit & Killed While Walking In The Road

A 66 year old Cathedral City man has been run over and killed while walking on Date Palm Drive near Victoria Drive, which is near the Food 4 Less Shopping Center south of Dinah Shore Drive in Cathedral City.
The coroner’s office reports the victim was hit at 10:16 Sunday night December 10th 2023, and died 6 minutes later.
The investigation shows the victim was walking in the road, not on the sidewalk.
The driver of the vehicle did nothing wrong, and was not under the influence.
The driver did wait at the scene for police to arrive.
We are still waiting for the coroner to identify the victim.
