Hit & Run Driver Now In Custody
Deputies in Western Riverside County have captured the person involved in a hit and run crash that left a child in critical condition.
On Wednesday February 14th at 6:36 in the evening, deputies were called to the scene of a crash at 3rd and C Streets in the town of Perris.
They found a boy lying in the road suffering from major injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed a dark colored full-size truck collided into a parked vehicle a short distance away. As the truck began fleeing the initial collision scene, the truck then struck the boy as he was crossing the street with his family.
Upon further investigation. deputies determined the suspect vehicle was a 2023 Ram 1500. Deputies identified the driver Mlouie Qutami, a 29-year-old resident of Menifee.
On Friday, March 1st 2024, deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station tracked down Qutami on Hospitality Place in Murrieta.
Qutami was booked into county jail for hit and run resulting in injury, driving on a suspended license causing great bodily injury, and three outstanding felony warrants.
