Head-On Crash Kills Indio Man; DUI Suspect Under Arrest

An Indio man has been killed in a head-on crash not far from Fantasy Springs Casino.

53 year old Martin Gutierrez was driving his Saturn on Indio Springs Parkway, the winding road east of  Golf Ceeter Parkway at 9:45 Tuesday night.

A passenger was in the car with him.

He was hit head-on by a GMC pickup truck.

Gutierrez was killed, and his passenger was seriously hurt.

The driver of the truck was arrested.  Police are investigating this as a possible DUI crash.

Emergency responders rush to the scene of an emergency.
