FEMA Finally Declares Major Disaster For Riverside County Six Months After Tropical Storm Hilary Rolled Through Town

Six months after Tropical Storm Hilary made a huge mess of neighborhoods on the north side of Cathedral City, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency  has issued a major disaster declaration and will provide financial assistance  to the State of California, local and Indian tribal governments, and private nonprofit organizations.

Hilary hit the desert on August 19th 2023. 

President Joe Biden declared California a major disaster area three months later, on November 21st 2023.
