Elderly San Diego Man Killed In Crash On Highway 74

A 75 year old man from San Diego has been killed in a crash on Highway 74 in Palm Desert.
Kenneth Macho was driving a Subaru Crosstrek at 12:32 in the afternoon on Thursday February 29th 2024.
He was heading east on that curvy portion of Highway 74 near Vista Point just outside Palm Desert.
Macho’s vehicle crossed the solid yellow lines in the center of the road and crashed into a tow truck heading the other way.
Macho was killed.
A woman in his car sustained moderate injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
The tow truck driver suffered minor injuries.
The CHP reports alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.
