Daughter Under Arrest For Stabbing Mother To Death In Coachella
One woman is dead, another in custody following a fatal stabbing in Coachella late Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday, January 14th 2024, ten minutes before 6, deputies were called to Avenue 48 near Jackson Street, near the Walmart, after receiving multiple reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Deputies located a 53-year-old Hispanic female, later identified as Elba Estrada, suffering from a stab wound and lying on the ground.
Estrada died at the scene.
22 year old Marilyn Cardenas of San Bernardino, was identified as the suspect in the incident and was arrested for murder.
The Sheriffs Department now says Marilyn Cardenas was the daughter of Elba Estrada. Estrada was a resident of San Bernardino.
Cardenas had recently relocated to the Coachella Valley.
