Weinstein Defense Rests In NYC

The defense has rested in the Harvey Weinstein rape trial in New York.

And it’s done so, without calling the disgraced movie man to testify.

The move to keep Weinstein off the witness stand means prosecutors won’t be able to cross-examine Weinstein about  allegations brought by six of his accusers.

His attorneys are banking their case on Monday’s testimony from three women, will raise reasonable doubts on whether the sexual encounters were criminal or consensual.

A rebuttal case from the prosecution is expected before closing arguments, which could start by the end of the week.

The jury could get the case on Feb 18th.
