Weekend Wins Over Division Rivals Catapult Firebirds Into 2nd Place

Two big weekend wins have pushed the Coachella Valley Firebirds into second place in the Pacific Division of the AHL.

Saturday night in Ontario, they trailed 2 -nothing just 6 minutes into the game.

But they tied the game in the first minute of the 2nd period, then went ahead for good early in the 3rd period in front of 96-hundred fans in Ontario.

That victory came 24 hours after the Firebirds opened a 4 to 1 lead at home over Calgary Friday night January 19th, then hung on for a 4 to 3 win, as 89-hundred faithful looked on Acrisure Arena.

The Firebirds continue their road trip in Henderson on Wednesday January 24th 2024.
