Two More Men Arrested; Linked To Rancho Mirage Robbery & Palm Desert Carjacking
More arrests have been made following an armed robbery in Rancho Mirage back on June 3rd 2024.
Just before midnight that night, two people were assaulted and robbed at gunpoint by several suspects at Highway 111 near Paxton Road, just west of the Rancho Mirage Library.
Minutes after that attack, a carjacking took place on Santa Rosa Way at Monterey in Palm Desert. The victim reporting several men with firearms assaulted him and stole his vehicle.
During the carjacking, the victim’s cell phone was left in the vehicle, and deputies were able to track the phone to an address on Angela Court in Indio. As deputies arrived in Indio, a suspect fled in the carjacked car, ditched the car a short time later and fled on foot.
The investigation led deputies to a home on Bradley Way in Indio, near Miles and Clinton.
They located the suspect vehicle from the Rancho Mirage robbery, and 20 year old Vincent Caballero of Thermal, and 25 year old David Bustos of Indio were arrested. Bustos is already a convicted felon.
Deputies grabbed an unregistered assault rifle, two handguns containing high-capacity magazines, and property belonging to the victims.
On Thursday, July 25th 2024, at 7:00 a.m., personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Palm Springs Police Department, District Attorney’s Gang Impact Team, and United States Marshal’s Service served several warrants at homes near the Salton Sea, Desert Shores, Desert Hot Springs, and Indio.
They arrested 20 year old Garrett Rivera of Desert Shores, and 23 year old Paul Garcia Nava III, of Desert Hot Springs.
