Two Local Men Arrested For November 1st Murder In Whitewater

The Coroner has identified a Desert Hot Springs man whose body was found last week in Whitewater.

On Wednesday November 1st 2023 around 1 in the afternoon, deputies were summoned to check on a body that was found on Country View Road in Whitewater.

The body of 32 year old Johnny Sanchez of DHS was found near a parked vehicle on a large parcel of land.

Authorities say the victim was shot at the property. 

The two men suspected of shooting him are jailed in Indio on murder charges.

They are 40 year old Daniel Pacheco  of Whitewater (left photo),  and 48 year old Juan Reyes of Palm Springs (right photo). Pacheco, was  initially detained at the property on Country View Road, and was arrested on November 2nd, 2023.

The Coachella Valley Violent Crimes Gang Task Force and the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit located and arrested Juan Reyes on Thursday November 2nd on East Palm Canyon Drive just west of Cherokee Way.
