$$ To Improve Safety On Palm Springs Streets

American taxpayers will give a $120,000 Grant to the Palm Springs Police Department to increase safety on the roads.

The grant comes from the California Office of Traffic Safety, which in turn is funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

So expect more DUI checkpoints and police patrols focused on stopping impaired drivers, drivers texting and talking on their phone, enforcement operations aimed at keeping pedestrians and bicyclists safe, by stopping motorists from speeding, running red lights or stop signs.

Some of the grant money will be used for officer training and certification.
