Thousands Of Firefighters Battles Flames & Hot Weather Around SoCal
Area fires are still causing air quality problems in the desert, as mountain communities face evacuation warnings.
The Line Fire burning in Highland in San Bernardino County north of the 210 Freeway has burned more than 26-thousand acres. It is 5% contained. It is burning in steep, rugged terrain and firefighter access is problematic.
There are currently 38,002 structures threatened.
Road Closures:
- SR-330 closed both directions from Highland Ave to Live Oak
- SR-18 closed from Kuffle Canyon to Big Bear dam, in both directions.
- SR-38 closed in both directions from Bryant to Lake Williams due to fire spread.
- Garnet St. closed at SR38 in Mentone, Ca
Evacuation orders are in place for the following areas:
Running Springs and Arrow Bear Lake, .

- Calle Del Rio east to Highway 38 and Greenspot Road north to the foothills.
- All undeveloped land east of Highway 330 to Summertrail Place and north of Highland Ave.
- East of Orchard Road to Cloverhill Drive from Highland Ave north to the foothills
- North of Highland Ave and East of Palm Ave to Highway 330
- Garnet Street east to the 38 and Mill Creek north to the foothills
- Mountain Home Village
- Forest Falls
- Angelus Oaks and Seven Oaks and all campgrounds and cabins in the area
Evacuation Warnings are in place for the following areas.
- From Boulder Avenue east to Church Street and Greenspot Road north to the foothills
- Church Street east to the city limit and from the foothills south to Greenspot Road
- Green Valley Lake north of Highway 18
- The communities of Cedar Glen, Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, and Valley of Enchantment
- Garnet Street east to Bryant Street and Carter Street north to Mill Creek
- Area of Big Bear Valley from the dam to Cactus Road
In response to the Line Fire in Highland, Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa Rancho Mirage, is offering evacuated families off-market pricing on accommodations.
They have set aside a block of hotel rooms for residents displaced by wildfires. For reservations, please call 1-800-854-1279. Rooms are available on a first come first basis.

Further west, just northwest of Ontario, is the Bridge Fire, which has scored roughly 3-thousand acres, and is zero percent contained.
Evacuation Shelter has been established at the Hacienda Heights Community Center.
- Evacuation order for the East Fork communities of Camp Williams Resort (café, mobile home park, campground) and the adjacent river community per Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department
- The area of Baldy Village from the dam to Mt. Baldy Resort (Zone BLD01)
Road Closures:
- San Gabriel Canyon and the East Fork of the San Gabriel River remains closed to all forest visitors.
