Tech Maverick Passes At 56

Former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki has lost her battle with non-small cell lung cancer.

She was 56.

Wojcicki’s husband Dennis Troper,  and Google CEO Sundar Pichai,  confirm Wojcicki’s passing.

Troper was married to Wojcicki for 26 years, and they had five children.

Pichai sent a note to Google employees late Friday August 9th 2024, saying “by now you may have heard the news that Susan Wojcicki has passed away after two years of living with lung cancer.” Non-small cell lung cancer is one of two primary types of lung cancer and the most common kind, according to the Yale School of Medicine.

Wojcicki’s passing comes on the heels of another heart-breaking loss for her and her husband in February of this year, when their 19-year-old son, Marco Troper, died of an accidental overdose in his dorm room at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a freshman.
