Suspicious Man Arrested Near Library Of Congress

A Washington, DC bomb threat suspect has surrendered.

The man forced a shutdown a wide area around Capitol Hill  when he sat in a black pickup truck for hours Thursday August 19th 2021  near the Library of Congress.

He’s a white male  from North Carolina. He was live streaming on Facebook as police negotiated his surrender.

No one was hurt during the incident.  Some people were evacuated from the Library of Congress and nearby Congressional offices.

However, lawmakers on Capitol Hill are on vacation and are back in their home districts.
