Surf Resort Being Built In Palm Desert; Opening In Spring 2026
The desert, surrounded by sand and mountains will soon have a 2nd surf club to enjoy.
The Palm Springs Surf Club opened at the start of 2024 at the old Knott’s Soak City location on Gene Autry Trail.
And construction has begun on the DSRT Surf Resort, a 17 acre facility in Palm Desert.
Roughly 2 years from now, in the spring of 2026, this resort should be ready to open, offering a surf lagoon shaped like a triangle that will cover 5 acres, a four story hotel, a restaurant, beaches, and a boardwalk.
Up to 80 people will be able to surf at the same time.
The hotel will have 92 rooms, will be 4 stories high and will boast a surf center, dining options, and a multi-level indoor and outdoor deck.
All of this at Desert Willow Golf Resort. In fact, the surf facility will be utilize some of the turf areas of the golf course.
The developers say the surf lagoon will be net zero water use, saving over 10 million gallons of water annually. A significant portion of the lagoon’s water will be used to irrigate the surrounding greenery and golf courses.
