Bright and early Wednesday morning August 16th 2023, the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, Riverside County Region 2 Gang Task Force, and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit, served a search warrant at a home on Desert View Avenue in Desert Hot Springs, 4 blocks south of Pierson, 2 blocks west of Palm Drive.

The search warrant stemmed from an ongoing investigation involving illegally possessed firearms.

The officers confiscated 20 guns. Six are 9mm semi-auto handguns, eight are .45 caliber semi-auto handguns, two .38 caliber semi-auto handguns, one .40 caliber semi-auto handgun, one 10mm semi-auto handgun, one .22 caliber semi-auto handgun, and one .556 semi-auto AR-15 rifle.

26 year old Ramon Higuera Jr of Desert Hot Springs, is jailed in Indio for distributing firearms to a Felon, possessing an unregistered handgun, and transferring firearms without a Federal Firearms License.
