More snow is coming to the mountains of Southern California which is great news for skiers.
But there was so much snow around Thanksgiving, that roads around popular ski areas were closed.
Now, with 54 inches of snow on the ground at Big Bear and Snow Summit, the roads are back open, though chains are required in some areas. Best to pack them in the trunk if you are heading to the hills.
State Route 18 from Running Springs to Big Bear is open.
Route 138 east of Interstate 15 is open only to residents.
