Signs, Bigger Signs, Political Propaganda…Proliferate Across the Coachella Valley
While voters wait patiently for our vote-by -mail ballots to be sent out by the Registrar of Voters office sometime between now and October 7th, they are getting bombarded with campaign propaganda from one side of the other, or both.
Large colorful flyers for and against Measure AA are showing up in mailboxes. That is the valley-wide measure dealing with the lease on Desert Regional Medical Center.
Oddly enough, people on the same side of the political aisle are not in lockstep on this issue.
Then you have street corners and main thoroughfares being overtaken by big campaign posters, and even bigger campaign posters, put up by teams working for candidates, who obviously subscribe to the idea that the candidate with the biggest sign wins the election. Those signs and posters will eventually be blown around by strong desert winds, and will take years to decay while partially burned in dry desert sand.
Caricature of a loud mouthed politician holding a blue flag and another one holding a red flag.
