SEIU Boss Resigns Over $$ Scandal

The Executive Director of California’s largest labor union, the Service Employees International Union has resigned after the California Attorney General charged her and her husband with multiple counts of tax fraud, embezzlement, perjury and failure to pay unemployment insurance taxes. 

 

The charges were filed against SEIU California Executive Director Alma Hernández and her husband, Jose Moscoso, on October 4th 2021.

 

The charges were filed in Sacramento County Superior Court. 

 

Hernández was Executive Director at SEIU for 5 years.

 

The union has more than 700,000 workers across California.

 

The union spent 6 million dollars of union dues to support California Governor Gavin Newsom in the September 2021 recall election.
