San Bernardino County’s elementary schools are cleared to reopen on Monday February 22nd 2021. That’s if they choose to, and have a state and county-approved reopening plan first.
The county qualified Friday February 19th 2021, after its coronavirus case rate met the state’s reopening threshold for the fifth straight day.
The daily new case rate is holding at less than 25 per 100-thousand people, which means students between transitional kindergarten and sixth grade qualify to take classes in person again.
Riverside County still has a Covid case rate of 28.8 cases per day per 100,000 people.
California has a Covid case rate of 24 cases per day per 100,000 people.
