San Jacinto Man Facing Slew Of Charges In Domestic Violence Case

38 year old Raul Mendez of San Jacinto man is locked up in Banning for threatening to harm deputies who rushed to the home where Mendez was already threatening another adult and a child.

At 11:13 a-m on Tuesday October 26th 2021, deputies went to a home on South Rosario Avenue in San Jacinto to investigate a domestic violence report.

Mendez barricaded himself inside his residence, and said he was armed and was going to shoot the deputies.

So, deputies called in the SWAT Team, and after a 5 hour standoff, Mendez surrendered peacefully. 

Deputies found a handgun, ammo, and drug paraphernalia inside the home.   

Mendez is facing charges of domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, child endangerment, being under the influence of controlled substance, and being a narcotics addict in possession of firearm.
