Sabalenka, Sinner Claim U-S Open Crowns

4 players from the United States had a chance at grabbing the championship trophy at the U S Open heading into the final weekend of play.  None of them did.

Emma Navarro lost in the semifinals.  Jessica Pegula made it to the Finals, and leading 5 to 3 in the second set, had a chance to force a deciding 3rd set in the finals, but lost to Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets.

Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz played 5 sets before Fritz won their seminfinal matchup. 

And Fritz had nothing left in the tank against top seed Jannik Sinner, as Sinner coasted to a 3 set win to win the title.
