Later this month, Riverside County will be getting a new County Counsel.
The Board of Supervisors will approve Minh Tran to the post on August 30th 2022.
Previously, Tran spent 10 years as Deputy County Counsel in Riverside County.
The county counsel is the top lawyer for the County, and manages a team that provides legal support to county departments. The county counsel’s office must specialize in several areas of law to support the wide range of services provided by the county, including matters concerning land use, child and adult welfare, and employment.
Tran has more than 28 years of experience working in law and government, including the last five years serving as County Executive Officer (CEO) for the County of Napa. At times over the past five years, Tran held a dual role as both CEO and County Counsel in Napa County.
Tran earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside and his juris doctorate from the University of La Verne, College of Law. He has practiced law in both the private and public sectors.
The annual salary for county counsel will be $285,000.
