There’s another recommendation coming from the government that will be difficult to figure out.

The FDA is telling Americans to reduce their daily intake of sodium by 12 percent over the next 2 and a half years.

It’s October 2021 now, so mid-April of 2024 is the target date.

One big problem is, in order to reduce your sodium intake by 12 percent, you would have to know how much sodium you consume now.

And is your life so balanced that you eat the same amount of sodium every day?

You would have to take 12% of your daily intake and figure out which items in your daily food and beverage intake, you would have to cut out, in order to reach that 12% reduction.

The FDA says its is seeing diet-related illnesses, hence the new guidelines.   The agency is pushing restaurants and food companies to reduce the salt in foods.

Too much sodium has been linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke and kidney failure.
