Palm Springs International Airport has broken its all-time passenger record for the month of July.

In July 2021, with people sick and tired of being locked down by government at every level, more than 129-thousand people passed through the gates at Palm Springs International Airport.

That’s about 32-thousand more than in July of 2019, which held the previous record.

Overall in 2021, passenger traffic at Palm Springs International Airport is still  37-percent lower than at this time in 2019.

Airport officials say  passenger numbers started returning to pre-pandemic levels at Palm Springs International Airport in May 2021, going up steadily in June and July 2021.

On Monday August 23rd, City officials welcomed the newly-renovated ticket lobby and baggage claim area at PSP.
