Protesters Storm U-S Embassy In Iraq

The U.S. Ambassador to Iraq and other staff have been evacuated from the American Embassy in Baghdad as protesters stormed the compound.

 

Iraqi foreign ministry officials say the Ambassador and the others were taken out of the embassy because of security concerns.

 

Thousands of protesters and  some militia fighters broke down the main gate of the embassy Tuesday December 31st  to protest Sunday’s U-S airstrikes that killed two-dozen Iranian-backed militia fighters.
