Police Locate Suspect Vehicle & Missing Woman; Case Is Domestic Violence Not An Abduction

Suspect Vehicle Located – Incident Determined to be Domestic Violence

The Palm Springs Police Department has located the suspect vehicle and the presumed victim from the reported incident on the 1200 block of San Joaquin Drive from Thursday May 16th 2024.

The suspect vehicle, described as a black compact sedan, was located, along with the presumed victim. After further investigation, it was determined that the incident was not an abduction but a domestic violence incident. Detectives are currently conducting follow-up investigations to determine any criminal violations.

The safety and well-being of the individuals involved are of utmost importance to us. We encourage anyone experiencing domestic violence or anyone aware of such situations to seek help immediately.

The Palm Springs Police Department is actively investigating a report of suspicious circumstances that occurred on Thursday May 16th  2024, at approximately 2:57  in the afternoon on the 1200 block of San Joaquin Drive.  That’s between Farrell Drive and El Cielo, just south of Mesquite Avenue and west of Demuth Park.

Officers responded to that area and determined that a female, approximately 16-20 years of age, may have been taken from the location against her will. 

The suspect vehicle is described as a black compact sedan, possibly a 2009-2013 Toyota Corolla. A heavy-set Hispanic male drove the vehicle, and the passenger was an unknown race male wearing a ski mask.
