Parolee Nabbed In Palm Desert

On Thursday November 7th  2024, at 5:26 a.m., a motorcycle deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for  speeding on Fred Waring Drive at Cook Street, in Indian Wells. The driver fled from the deputy at speeds approaching 100 mph and began to travel westbound in the eastbound lanes of Fred Waring Drive at Portola Avenue.

The deputy lost sight of the vehicle but located it on  San Pascual Avenue   one block north of the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert.

Deputies surrounded a home and ordered all residents to come out.

Deputies waited several hours, but no one came out of the home.

By then deputies had obtained a  search warrant and entered the home, finding one person hiding in a bedroom closet.

He refused to cooperate with deputies, so the K-9 team was sent in to grab the suspect.

During a search of the residence, deputies found an unregistered firearm and ammunition.

The suspect is 38-year-old Paul Claudio Piermartiri of Palm Desert.

He’s jailed in Indio  for felony evading, resisting/delaying an officer, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm, and violating parole.
