Palm Springs Library Hosting Passport Fair Aug 5th 2023
The Palm Springs Public Library will host a Passport Fair on Saturday, August 5th 2023 from 10AM – 4PM, in the Learning Center at the main library at Sunrise and Baristo.
No appointment is needed.
If you need a passport for the first time (no renewals) just bring your completed paperwork, proof of citizenship, and identification and one of our trained staff members will assist you.
To learn more about the needed forms, acceptable forms of identification, and fees go to the library’s website www.palmspringslibrary.org/passports prior to your visit.
Passport photos are also available at the library for an additional fee (proceeds to benefit the Friends of the Palm Springs Library) and can be taken during your visit.
Staff will review all documentation and once complete will submit your application to the State Department for processing.
Standard processing time still applies, which are currently 10-13 weeks for routine service and 7-9 weeks for expedited service, so don’t delay!
For those who cannot attend the Passport Fair, regular appointments are available through the library’s website Monday-Saturday.
The Palm Springs Public Library was the first Library in the Nation to be designated as a U.S. Department of State Passport Acceptance Facility.
Services started in August 1997 and continued until 2008. Services were restarted in 2019 and then paused again during COVID.
Services were reinstated in August 2021, twenty-four years after first introducing this service to our community.
“Our staff is trained and happy to help anyone applying for a new passport. We are excited to offer this service to the community” said Jeannie Kays, Director of Library Services.
The Palm Springs Public Library is located at 300 S. Sunrise Way, on the corner of Sunrise Way and Baristo Road.
