One Drunk Driver Pulled Over During 8-Hour Checkpoint

It was a very busy DUI checkpoint on Friday September 13th 2024 in Coachella.

It was on Cesar Chavez Street, north of Avenue 50, from 6 p-m Friday night until 2 o’clock Saturday morning September 14th.

• 973 vehicles drove through the checkpoint.
• 318 vehicles were screened.
• 16 vehicles received a secondary screening.
• 8 citations were issued for unlicensed/suspended drivers.
• 1 driving was arrested for being under the influence 
• 1 felony arrest warrant was served.
• 3 misdemeanor arrest warrants were served.
• 2 citations were issued for vehicle code violations.
• 2 vehicles were towed.
