The union representing 175-thousand nurses across the country is going virtual with its demands for a better contract.

The California Nurses Association and National Nurses Organizing Committee, which are affiliated with National Nurses United,  the largest union and professional association of RNs in the country, will host a virtual press conference on Fri June 11th 2021 at high  noon  Pacific time.

The union says it is now time for employers to put patients first,  ahead of profits,  and demonstrate respect for registered nurses by negotiating fair contracts that protect this essential workforce and allow nurses to provide safe, high-quality patient care. This includes optimal access to personal protective equipment (PPE), safe staffing levels, and other measures to ensure patient safety during Covid-19.

There are roughly 3 million nurses across the country.
