President Joe Biden is signing a major emergency declaration for California.

This makes federal tax dollars available for wildfire relief in four northern California counties.

The emergency aid will cover grants  for temporary home repairs and low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses from the wildfires sweeping across the region.

Cal Fire says more than 14-thousand-200 firefighters are on the frontlines battling 12 active large wildfires across the state.

Those blazes have burned more than one-point-six million acres.

The Dixie Fire and Caldor Fire are among the 2 largest fires.

This year’s wildfire season has hit Northern California particularly hard.  Southern California has been spared from a major wildfire so far in the summer of 2021.
