A North Carolina District Attorney is not pressing any charges against Sheriffs deputies in the recent shooting of a Black man.
Pasquotank County D-A Andrew Womble has released the bodycam video from the recent killing of Andrew Brown Jr.
Womble says the deputies actions were “justified.”
The shot and killed Brown when he refused to cooperate with the deputies when they served a search and arrested warrant in April 2021.
Instead Brown tried to drive away, and Womble insists Brown tried to run over the deputies during the arrest, using his car as a deadly weapon.
Deputies were on foot, surrounding Brown’s car when he attempted to drive away.
The arrest warrant involved Brown dealing drugs laced with fentanyl.
The investigation shows Brown was shot in the back of the head, and crystal meth was found in his mouth.
