No Arrests During 6-Hour DUI Checkpoint; DUI Driver Crashes Into Bicyclist The Day After The DUI Checkpoint

On Thursday October 26th 2023, The Palm Springs Police Department issued 10 citations for driving with a suspended/revoked license or without a license at a DUI checkpoint at San Luis Rey and Dinah Shore Drive.
Police were there from 7 at night until 1 in the morning on Friday.
There were no DUI Arrests.

At 1 in the morning on Saturday October 27th, there was no DUI checkpoint, and a drunk driver ran over a bicyclist, leaving the bicyclist in critical condition.
The crash happened at Ramon Road and Sunrise Way. The driver of the car was traveling on Ramon Road. The bicyclist was crossing the street.
The driver was booked on a charge of suspicion of DUI.
