Motorcycle Crash Kills Elderly Woman; Leaves Man With Major Injuries

A senior citizen from Phoenix, has been killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 10 in Palm Springs.
Around 11:20 Thursday morning September 7th, 68 year old Cheryl McCoy was riding as a passenger on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. A 63 year old man was driving.
They were traveling west on I-10, coming up on the Palm Drive Exit.
Moving at 70 miles per hour in the fast lane, the motorcycle driver made a sudden turn to the left and lost control. The motorcycle overturned and crashed into the center median.
Both occupants were thrown from the motorcycle. They were rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries. Cheryl McCoy died at the hospital.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be factors.
