More Testimony In Felix Murder Trial Penalty Phase

More than a week after convicting John Felix of murdering 2 Palm Springs Police officers, members of the Indio jury are still on the job.

 

Still hearing testimony, still unable to render a decision in the penalty phase of the Felix murder trial.

 

Eventually, the jury will recommend to the judge whether Felix will face the death penalty or just spend the rest of his life in prison without the chance for parole.

 

In California, there is a moratorium on the death penalty, imposed by Governor Gavin Newsom earlier this year, when he was sworn into office.

 

There will be no executions in California while Newsom is Governor,  which is likely to be for the next 7 and a half years.
