More Evacuations Near The Line Fire As Fire Spreads Again

The Line Fire is burning between Highland, Running Springs, and Angelus Oaks. As of  10 AM  Tues Oct 1st 2024 the fire has burned 43,492  (Friday 39,232 acres), and is 76% contained.

Justin Halstenberg remains in custody for starting the Line Fire, and possibly other fires as well.

Evacuation Order – Level 3 – Go

  • Angelus Oaks (ANG01)
  • Seven Oaks (ANG02)

Evacuation Warning – Level 2 – Set

  • Boulder Bay area of Big Bear from the dam east to Wildrose Lane (BBC08)
  • The community of Big Bear Lake including Moonridge, Sugarloaf, and south Erwin Lake (BBC04, BBC05, BBC06, BBC07)

– Forest Closure –

San Bernardino issued a Forest Closure Area around the Line Fire. All National Forest lands, trails, and roads are closed to the public within that zone including San Gorgonio Wilderness 

– Road Closures –

  • Highway 38 is closed from Middle Control Road (North of Angelus Oaks) to Lakewood Drive (Lake Williams)
  • SR-330 closed both directions from Highland Ave to Live Oak

The Bridge Fire is burning in the San Gabriel Mountains between Glendora and Phelan. As of 5 AM Tues Oct 1st 2024, the fire has burned 54,878 acres, and is 98% contained.  The cause of The Bridge Fire is still unknown.

The Airport Fire is burning in the Santa Ana Mountains between Rancho Santa Margarita and Lake Elsinore in parts of Orange and Riverside Counties. As of 5 AM Tues Oct 1st 2024  the fire has burned 23,526 acres and is 95% contained.   

SR-74 Re-Opened

Highway 74 is now open. There is still infrastructure repair occurring through Highway 74 please use caution and slow to a safe speed. Commuters should expect intermittent lengthy delays due to ongoing repair of infrastructure along the highway.
